May 12 - June 13, 2010
Book by June Bingham Music and Lyrics by Carmel Owen

Everyone knows the story of how President Abraham Lincoln died. But what happened afterward? What became of his eccentric wife, First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln, and their son Robert? Though not everyone knows it, the tale of their battle of wills is as thrilling as American history gets. In ASYLUM: THE STRANGE CASE OF MARY LINCOLN, writer June Bingham and composer Carmel Owen explore the dark psychological warfare and unique historical conditions that drove Robert Lincoln to have his mother wrongfully committed to an insane asylum. Imprisoned at a time when women had few rights, Mary must draw on all her strength and cleverness, as well as a few courageous friends and the memory of her husband, to fight the system and set herself free. A haunting character study of a strong-willed woman and a dangerous man, ASYLUM makes history come alive.

"...the music takes center stage. Owen is onto something with her music...laudable moments of Puccini proportions." David Fuller, NYTheater.com

June 30 - August 1, 2010
Music and Lyrics by Clay Zambo   Book by Susan Murray

Greenbrier Ghost is based on the true story of the only known case when the testimony of a ghost was admitted into a murder trial.

Mary Jane Heaster and her husband Jacob have lost their daughter Zona twice: first when she married the town’s new blacksmith Erasmus Shue, and again when she died after only three months of marriage.  The town doctor declared Zona died of a heart attack, but Mary Jane begins to have visions of her daughter in which Zona tells what really happened—or was Mary Jane only dreaming?

Grief is driving Mary Jane and her sheriff husband Jacob apart, but she convinces him to open an investigation, even as the townswomen speculate who the blacksmith might take as his next bride. The evidence seems circumstantial, but the blacksmith who almost got away with murder is undone by a mother’s love and by the Greenbrier Ghost.

Adapted from the nineteenth century short story by clergyman George MacDonald, "The Day Boy and the Night Girl" is the story of Watho, a witch who, while driven to discover the answers to the endless questions of life, is possessed by a Wolf in her mind.  In the grandest of all her experiments to find answers, she decided to raise two children; the Day Boy, raised without any fear in the light, but he's terrified of the dark, and the Night Girl, imprisoned in a dark cellar. By raising the children in this way, she hopes to guard them against their own "wolves".  Her experiment goes horribly wrong when she discovers her children's own independence and the wolf possessing her, begins the hunt.
With a brilliant and innovative musical score and a captivating and engaging story, this is theater you will not want to miss!

Freely adapted from the classic novel by Jules Verne

Book, Lyrics and Music by Phil Willmott
Additional music and arrangements by Annemarie Lewis Thomas

It's 1873 and English Gentleman Adventurer Phileas Fogg, his muddle-headed French servant Passepartout and the beautiful and exotic Princess Aouda face the most fearsome and fantastic challenge of their lives. They're risking everything to prove that the world can be circled in eighty days - and they've saved a place on the voyage for you!
Brave the storms at sea, climb the clouds in the basket of a balloon, hold on for dear life to the back of a bad tempered elephant - when time's this tight, no transport's too treacherous.
But what of arrest, bandits, evil enemies... and unlooked for romance?  Will such surprises trip up our heroes  or will they make it back to London in triumph?
Jues Verne's celebrated adventure comedy has been surprising and delighting all ages for over a century as a novel, an Oscar winning film starring David Niven and even a popular cartoon. This popular English musical version has been delighting audiences all over Europe for ten years, cleverly using a small cast of versatile actors and a simple ingenious staging to tell a big, big story! Don't miss it's American première.
